Check out a new blog called Shake the Earth. The title/url are inspired by buffalo songs and the content is interwoven with buffalo esque influence as its author once sang under that pseudonym. Rumor has it that some songs might trickle their way into the hands of humble searchers.
Live Forever.

The Elk & The Buffalo Pt.II
If the answer's always maybe you'll never leave my head.
If I could I would be yours, but that dreams long since dead.
I couldn't let you go, I had to draw you close.
Like poison in my veins or a needle in my paw.
My fear is you'll be back but I'll have gone away,
you'd try to pull me close and I'd wish I would have stayed.
[*]Never thought I'd be so angry.
Never thought I'd lose my mind.
In the morning I'll be better,
if I make it through the night.
So I'll put you out of reach, but can that really be the cure?
If you came stumbling in, would I open up the door?
As I'd wrap your wounds, your fragrance I'd inhale.
I tried to kill this curse, but your love was my bane.
[*]
The Elk and the Buffalo.
The Elk and the Buffalo.
At the end of my rope.
Will you pull me up?
Or leave me here to hang
by the noose around my neck.
Its sucking out my air.
Its cutting through my skin.
Your dagger blade's too dull
to cut through the line.
A struggle when it lived.
A struggle when it died.
If the Elk is dead,
can she raise to life?
[*]

Little Gods.
You ate the poisoned fruit.
And now its burning a hole, its burning a hole in you.
It was sweet in your mouth but bitter in your stomach.
Now its burning a hole, its burning a hole in you.
You sewed the leaves to cover up your body,
to hide the shame of being naked.
*I'm writing in hopes that you would find the cure
to darkness thats gripping a hold in your heart.
You swear you don't but know exactly what you're doing.
You try to hide behind the old lies...
That you would find a better one.
You put all your trust in little gods.
They swore you'd find a better one,
and now you can't trust anyone.
A wall up in my mind.
Is it burning a hole, is it burning a hole in you?
I'll wash my heart in a sea of lies.
Like a stone I'll sink to the bottom.
I'll live like the blind, fumbling around in darkness.
I'll close my eyes and live in mourning.
*
They swore you'd find, but you've gone blind.
They swore you'd find, but you've gone blind.
The darkness binds and now you're blind.
They swore you'd find, but you've gone blind.
Untitled
Its falling like rain and its rising like the sun.
Its falling like fire on the deaf and the dumb.
She won't let you drown and she won't let you run.
I'm living like I'm free but I'm running from the hell.
I killed the lion boy but I'm still sleeping with the elk.
If I went searching for my god would I find myself?
If I went searching for my God would I find myself?
Down in the water the old man he swore
that if I'd loose my bags and wade in the water
I'd find, oh I'd find the cure.
Mister I cried, oh I'll die in the deep.
My legs will grow tired,
my arms will grow weak, and I'll drown
as I sink beneath.
There's a water that's welling up deep in your soul
like the fire that burned up in the prophets of old.
The vultures they scream that the fire's burned out,
There's no well in the sand, you'll die in this drought.
And they log to eat up all the flesh off your bones.
They howl and they screech to suck out your hope.
But there's a well in your heart, its been damned by the dirt.
The water's alive and it longs to pour out.
Its as real as the air and as strong as the breeze.
It rattles my bones and it sings set me free.
Set Me free. Have Mercy on me.

Over My Head.
What can a man trust in?
Its over my head and over my shoulders.
Like a blade pushed deeper in,
cutting me closer over and over.
This rock on which I stand,
over time will it be eroded?
As the storm rolls in,
it sure does feel like it.
Its over my head, its over my head.
Isn't that the trick? to trust in spite of it.
The steadiness of rain meets the steadiness of pain.
Oh sweet rain, won't you wash me.
Its over my head, its over my head.
